Key Tourist Sights:

One of the first places any art lover should head to in Padua is the Scrovegni Chapel, where you will find some excellent frescoes by Giotto. These frescoes are some of the most famous works of art in European history.

Whilst visiting the chapel, make a stop in the Civic Museums. Although not as much a draw as the chapel, you will be able to find a large collection of archaeological artefacts and works of art to admire.

Palazzo della Ragione is a medieval hall. You'll find some incredible frescoes on the walls as well as a large wooden horse.

The cathedral dates back to the 16th century, and is worth a visit. However, the Baptistery next to it is perhaps the more interesting of the two. It is four centuries older, and inside you will find a beautiful and detailed fresco.

For a pleasant place to people watch, head to Prato della Valle, a public square which is one of the biggest in Italy. There is a park to sit in which is surrounded by a small canal, and it makes a great place to stop and watch the world go by.
