You can even taste the water for yourself.

Harrogate also boasts a number of beautiful green spaces to explore, including The Stray, Harlow Carr and the Valley Gardens, which is apparently Alan Titchmarsh’s favourite public garden. However, if you’d like to see something altogether more rugged then head out to the Yorkshire Dales just outside the town.

For more on the history of Harrogate, visit the fascinating Fountains Abbey, which is one of the largest monastic ruins in the whole of the country and is also a world heritage site.

Tea is big in Harrogate, and you cannot pass up the opportunity to go to Bettys famous café and tea rooms when you are in town. It is in the centre looking over the park and is a great place to enjoy some excellent tea and refreshments.

For entertainment, head to the Montpellier Quarter where you can choose from a large number of shops and also take in some art galleries before heading out for a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants. After that a trip to the Royal Hall Theatre is in order to enjoy one of the excellent shows that are regularly put on here.
